Stuart Gavert, co-owner
After working in various salons in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, Stuart Gavert joined forces with his partner Cody Kusakabe to start Gavert Atelier in 1998. At the same time, Stuart was leading a bicoastal existence; for a decade he worked two weeks at his home salon in Beverly Hills, and two weeks at the salon in New York City. An avid traveler, he is also an internationally prominent platform artist and educator who has done (and continues to do ) over thirty classes in Japan alone. |

Cody Kusakabe, co-ownerCody Kusakabe hails from Tokyo, Japan where he studied and worked as a hair stylist. Twenty years ago as a young man in search of adventure, Cody Kusakabe ventured to Los Angeles and enrolled in beauty school there. After graduating, he opened his own shop, Rococo, in Los Angeles. In 1998, he and his partner, Stuart Gavert, joined together to launch Gavert Atelier in Beverly Hills. Cody Kusakabe is a true texture maven who specializes in delivering modern looks that are easy to care for. To his eye, and in his hands, the goal is to bring out the best in someone's natural hair rather than to force it into something it's not. A much-in-demand educator both in the U.S. and abroad, Cody travels back to Japan at least twice a year to teach. In this context-as well as in life itself- he considers himself an ambassadorial bridge between the beauty worlds of America and Japan. |
